The possibilities are endless with some help online. Math activities for kindergarten are fun and engaging for your student to complete. Not only that: they are easy to find right from your own computer. With some digging (and sometimes a printer), you’ll have your kindergartener practicing math with a smile in no time.
This is not to discount the value of traditional schoolwork; knowing how to complete the problems on a regular worksheet is still a valuable skill. However, as an educator and a mom, I’ve learned that limiting students to that is less effective overall. Not all learners are the same—so why should they all be doing the same things? Online math activities for kindergarten are the perfect way to branch out and find some effective, engaging practice for your student.
Printables, aptly named, are activities that you can print out for your child to complete. They come in many forms. While there are many free options available, it may be worth it to look into some paid printables as well. Many of them come in packages and some sites may provide a discount if you choose a bundle of some kind, rather than picking them out individually.
One of the first printable activities for kindergarten math online that we recommend are coloring pages. While your child is likely pretty new to math, they certainly aren’t new to coloring. When you put the two together, you’ve got a fun activity that your kindergartener loves and a healthy amount of math practice mixed in. Coloring pages provide visual examples for your child to observe as they color. As your child works their magic with those markers, follow along with them. Quiz them a little as they color. Ask them to talk about the examples they see and explain a few of the problems. (After all, you don’t want them to forget about the math portion of the activity.)

Math toys bring touch, vision, and sometimes audio learning together. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: more senses involved equals more understanding.
No printer? Can’t find room for more toys? No problem. Kindergarten math online games work well as a fun practice method. They are colorful, directly engaging, and designed to be a lot of fun. Just be sure that the games are still a little challenging and, of course, math-related. (As fun as Flappy Bird is, it leaves a lot to be desired in the math department.)
Looking for other effective math practice methods for your kindergartener? Argo Prep has courses designed with your child in mind. This means that they are engaging—and that they really work. You can find instructional videos on their forum. Additionally, you can browse their store for workbooks and textbooks. For your convenience, and for the good of your child’s learning experience, the physical materials are aligned with the videos for a comprehensive, multi-sided approach to math and more.
