This ArgoPrep worksheet has grade-one students subtracting double-digit numbers from double-digit numbers, without regrouping. Working with numbers like 38-21, students can first subtract the numbers in the one's place and then the numbers in the tens place. Since the numbers in 38 are both larger than 21, there is no need to regroup and borrow from the ten's place. This worksheet, however, does prepare students for more challenging lessons to come by having them work with larger numbers than in previous lessons. This worksheet introduces students to subtraction with double-digit numbers, while bringing them one step closer to learning about regrouping. This worksheet was created by teachers and is right in line with what grade-one students should be learning, as well as setting them up for success in the future with math. Download this free worksheet and first graders can begin learning about double-digit subtraction without regrouping.
