These finding perimeter using multiplication worksheets will give third-graders a new way to find the perimeter of rectangular shapes. To find perimeter, students have learned they need to add up all four sides. However, they can multiply the sides that are the same (as with a square all four) to make it faster. With a rectangle, the top and bottom are the same and the two sides are the same. So perimeter can be found by multiplying two times the bottom length plus two times the side length.
These finding perimeter using multiplication worksheets for third-grade students will teach students another way to find the perimeter of objects. Perimeter is the distance around an object and shows the size of it by how large the perimeter is. So finding a perimeter is done by adding up all four sides. An even faster way to do this is the multiply two times one side and two times the other for rectangles, or even four times the length of one side for a square. A square that has four-inch sides, has a perimeter of four times four or sixteen. For a rectangle that has two equal sides on the top and bottom and two equal sides, on the right and left. So for instance, if the bottom and top length are six and the two sides are a length of four, the perimeter can be found by two times six and two times four, which equals twenty. This worksheet will give third-grade students a faster method for finding perimeter.
